The Responder 1 journey began in 1972 when I joined my community fire department in East Orange County, Florida.  Throughout my career I was fortunate to work with incredible colleagues in an area that was exploding due to the arrival of Walt Disney World.  In a short decade the Metro-Orlando area grew from 100,000 to a current population reaching 2,000,000!  That growth required quick, responsive and oftentimes creative leadership, operational flexibility and a desire to learn and train.

Responder 1 is an information hub that includes current and tried-and-true lesson plans, training events, announcements and notices intended to protect the safety and security of all responders.  Whether you are a firefighter, law enforcement officer, medical responder or anyone responsible for protecting your community; you will find files for download to help you share with your colleagues, team members and partners.
